I saw science of sleep last night (finally) after a whole week of trying to go see it only to have it sell out or have the plans fall apart. Was it worth it? Absolutely.

Had a good day today. Two job interviews, shitloads of rain, found out I got the job, saw Annie, took a nap together, went out to dinner, took her home, saw Kai and his Mandolin.
I get to just chill out in NYC for another week before class begins and I have to work really hard and all that shit.

I am in such an insanely good mood. I'm having a wonderful time in India - we just got back from a little road trip and we're just relaxing for the rest of the day. I've seen some pretty amazing stuff and cannot wait to come home and share pictures and stories.
In other news, I just talked to Annie for the first time in a few days....It was so nice to hear her voice. I really love her so much it hurts (in a wierd, good sort of way.)

I'm offically done with freshman year of College. Classes ended last monday, but today was my last final, and I rocked that shit.
It's kind of sad...everyone's room is now all bare and posterless, the living room is totally empty, and people have already started to leave. Sanchit and Lauren left on friday, and I was sad, but then I saw Art School Confidential and I became happier. And then Charlotte and I went to go see the Books in Williamsburg....they are an astounding live show; I highly recommend it.
My official year-end celebration was going to a Brooklyn loft party and coming home late and really happy - happy enough to stay up until four watching Empire Records.
This summer's going to be obscenely long. I have from now until the end of August. What am I going to do with myself. Hopefully, I'll be able to get enough cash together to go to India in August, or convince my dad to buy me a ticket, but that's still so far away. And Annie's probably going to be gone all of July. And I REALLY need a job.
I leave Wednesday afternoon. I'm going to miss NY a lot. But first, I'm going to go see Pinback.

Wow...I haven't been on this thing in a while. The year is winding down...I can't believe there are only two full weeks left of my freshman year at college. That said, they wil be two of the busiest weeks of my life, but it's about time I felt that good old end-of-the-year pressure that Pali made me know and love.
I've been working on sets alot. I've crewed on four shoots now as a Grip and Electric. I shot an independent project with some friends, which was a great chance to use an amazing camera, and the film came out great. I got my footage back from the music video shoot over spring break, and that looks great too! I can't wait to start editing that.

Lastly, through a fun turn of events and my friend shoving a ringing cell phone in my face, I have gotten myself into being the DP for a third-year project. I'm excited and nervous, because we have a really limited budget, freshmen NEVER DP advanced projects (we're not even really supposed to be shooting on film), and it's right before finals week. But I can't wait! There's going to be ninjas and nintendo games, so at the very least it will be really fun.

I took the film to Fotokem in Burbank, which meant at least an hour of traffic each way. I went back to Pali and met with Mr. Danziger, hung out with Jeremy, played with the Jazz band, and came home.

1:01 am - Spring Break Update...

I slept for thirteen hours yesterday to catch up on the past week.
Shenanigans music video is going great, despite the occasional production-stopping snag. The fact that the camera hasn't been used in twenty years, that I'm running it off of lantern batteries duct-taped together, that it decided to stop working yesterday for no reason, and that the hand-crank motor only runs at 64fps is amusing, but it gets old fast when it keeps me from shooting and when it causes me to waste bits of film
I'm paranoid, so I'm shooting on MiniDV as well as 16mm, just in case the film doesnt come out. The upside is, I can give you guys some digital stills! Woo!

Charlotte and I dressed up for the Oscars last night. You know....practicing for when we actually do have the good fortune to grace the red carpet in a few years....

As for the actual awards, I got the overwhelming sense that Jon Stewart wanted to be anywhere but hosting the Oscars. Three of the five nominees associated with NYU picked up awards (Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ang Lee, and John Canemaker). Crash surprised me as best picture, but then again I haven't seen it yet (I just got the DVD, I'm seeing it this week, I swear). Three Six Mafia winning for best song was amazing, and their acceptance speech was hillarious. As was Jack Nicholson.
I'm going to be home in five days. Damn. I'm really excited, and I hope all of my plans pan out. Assuming of course I can make it through this week...

I know I don't post very often, but life is pretty good. I'm happy, I get to work on really fun projects, and as long as I stay on track in my annoyingly cerebral writing the essay class, I have alot of free time.
I can't wait for spring break. I have a lot of intense plans, and I really hope they all work out, and I really hope I have time to see everybody I want to see.

I just crewed 8 hours for a third-year film called "Laceration Lane". I'm honestly doing it just to in some way be connected with that title. Tomorow and Sunday I'm crewing for 12 hours. Hell yes to not sleeping. I'm so exhausted though. H
